5/6 Life Teen Weekly Update

Hi Teens and Families!

Hope this update is finding you and your family doing well!  Randy and I have been enjoying this lovely weather by walking at our local park daily.  (Thanks to Patty K for our masks!)  I hope all of you are able to go out and soak up some Vitamin D.

LIFE TEEN MASS: It was awesome to have a St. Oliver Life Teen Mass to participate in this past week.  I look forward to worshipping with you all this Sunday, 5/10 at 5pm.  You can view the Life Teen Mass on the St. Oliver Plunkett Snellville YouTube channel.  I have attached a worship aid that will help you engage in the Mass along with this link (readings and meditation):  https://us.magnificat.net/skin/frontend/default/theme278k/images/site/Celebration_US.pdf

Life Nights:   We have moved our Sunday Life Nights to Wednesdays from 6:30pm-7:30pm via Zoom.  We are changing our Life Night format so you will not be required to tune into the Life Teen Global Life Night.  Below is a list of activities that are available for you this week:

2nd Year Confirmation Families: We are hopeful that we may hear something about our Confirmation Liturgy by the end of May from the Archdiocese.  Once we get news, we will then decide on how we will proceed with the reception of the Sacrament.  As soon as details are finalized, we will contact you via email.  We did miss our last preparation session.  We have made arrangements for you all to view the last videos on your own.  The following are the links to the videos you must complete:  (this info was sent to you several weeks ago, but here is a reminder)

Your last FIATs (service projects) were due on March 18th.  Please email these to us as soon as possible.  Due to our current circumstances, you do not need to provide the signed form.  We do, however, need the reflections.  If you are missing any of your FIATs or forms, you need to contact Miranda as soon as possible.  You can text or call Miranda at 770.355.7941 or you can email her at mljzpf@hotmail.com.  Do not wait until the last minute to contact her about how to complete your requirements.

2020 Seniors:  We are still hoping to have a Baccalaureate Mass to celebrate this momentous occasion.  Once we hear from the Archdiocese on when we can safely gather, we will let you all know of the plans.  St. Oliver’s would still like to honor you at this time.  We would like to put together a slide show of our seniors that we can stream prior to our remaining Masses this month and on the parish website.  The church will post you picture with your first name only and a few other things.  If you would like to be included, please send the following info to me by May 13th to youthministry@stolivers.com:

  1. Your Senior photo or a current photo of you
  2. Name of High School
  3. Favorite Bible passage or quote
  4. Future plans
